Régine has plenty to say about the women of Salt Lake City in Season 7, Episode 6, “Boss Up or Shut Up,” and Bronwyn is one of her biggest targets this week. She questions Bronwyn’s behavior around her younger boyfriend, her continued financial ties to Todd, and her decision to make the San Francisco trip feel like a personal celebration.
Régine also agrees with Meredith’s description of Bronwyn’s “fake fragility,” arguing that Bronwyn seems to take comments personally even when they weren’t necessarily directed at her. Elsewhere, Régine gives Whitney credit for her explanation of what she said about Meredith, arguing that describing how someone has changed over seven years isn't automatically talking shit.
But she has concerns about the apparent Meredith takedown and the castmate who informs Meredith about it, only to visit Whitney afterward. Régine questions whether trying to remain in the middle of these alliances will eventually backfire.
Lisa Barlow’s reluctance to apologize also comes under scrutiny. Régine sees Lisa’s willingness to write a check rather than apologize to Bronwyn as consistent with her attitude toward apologies, especially when Mary tells her that apologizing is what grown women do.
The episode also has a more heartfelt side. Régine loves Mary’s boss-lady brunch and appreciates seeing the other women show up for her during a difficult time following Robert Jr.’s passing.
She reflects on how much it means to remember who was there when you were at your lowest, particularly when family relationships are strained. From the San Francisco trip and the arguments over Meredith to Mary’s support system and Lisa’s refusal to apologize, Régine considers what these developments might mean for the relationships and alliances going forward.
