Music is My Church With Dahi

July 23, 2026 · 1h 10m

You are not alone in your creativity, whether it is music, filmmaking, or another expression. The ability to create offers many opportunities to heal, connect and transform everyone it encounters. Devi sits with Grammy-winning producer Dahi who shares how his upcoming project, Black Boy Alternative, came from long seasons of self-reflection, false starts, and finally a “let God in the room” jam session approach that unlocked the story he actually wanted to tell. He explains why music can be his church, what it means to be a “Black Boy” outside the box, and offers simple yet extremely important soul work: “pray…give thanks…ask for guidance” so the weight isn’t all on you. Staying Rooted in Our Authentic Power With Devi Brown

Jul 17 · 39m

The summer is already almost over, and Devi shares what this fast-moving, “grief and joy happening all at once” summer is teaching her, especially how to stay present when everything feels like it’s shifting. Although there may also be a lot of positive personal shifts, it is our practice that keeps us rooted in our authentic power. Pivoting to Fulfill Your Purpose With Dr. Julius Thomas

Jul 9 · 1h 12m

This episode feels like a real permission slip to stop chasing the version of success that looks good and start listening to what’s actually true inside of you. Dr. Julius Thomas shares how becoming the highest-paid tight end in the NFL didn’t bring peace: “the year of my life that I made the most money was also the year that I was suffering the most”, and how that forced him to face how “cold” and emotionally disconnected he’d become. You’ll hear what it really takes to pivot without turning it into a “brand update”.  Soul Work: Write down the gift “no one else can see,” then choose bravery and show it. Peaceful Doesn't Mean Passive With Nina Parker

Jul 2 · 1h 46m

This is a real insight into a longtime friendship between Devi and Nina Parker; they talk candidly about what it looks like to choose yourself when your life looks “successful” on the outside while hiding underlying turmoil internally. Nina shares how therapy helped her stop curating relationships and finally prioritize peace, starting with the simple question, “Do I wanna go? Do I like these people?” Simple questions that are somehow avoided during the decision process. She opens up about surviving an abusive relationship, how grief and public pressure can make you perform instead of dedicating real time towards healing, and why self-awareness only matters when your choices change.  Previous Episode: Protecting Your Peace with Nina Parker Connect with Nina Parker: Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/theninaparker/?hl=en Nina Parker’s Collection: https://www.instagram.com/ninaparkercollection/?hl=en  Connect with Devi: Website: https://devibrownwellbeing.com/ Substack: https://substack.com/@devibrown Living In Wisdom Book: https://www.devibrown.com/book Living in Wisdom Retreat: https://www.eomega.org/workshops/living-wisdom Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/devibrown/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/deeplywellpod/ Twitter: https://twitter.com/devibrown?s=21&t=… Merch: https://devibrown.myshopify.com/ Threads - https://www.threads.com/@devibrownSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Well-being Rituals With Koya Webb

Jun 19 · 49m

Devi sits down with Koya Webb to explore what it means to thrive without perfection—through intentional choices, genuine self-worth, and practices that help regulate the nervous system. Koya reflects on a year that brought both marriage and profound loss, including a car accident, miscarriage, and the deaths of loved ones. Through it all, she discovered that grief can become “the accelerator for embodiment.” With refreshing honesty, Koya shares that even after years of wellness practice, she found herself dysregulated, lonely, and needing to deepen her relationships and support system. This conversation is a powerful reminder that wellbeing isn't defined by what we achieve, but by whether we feel connected, supported, and like we truly belong. As Koya notes, having community and a sense of belonging is one of the strongest indicators of longevity and overall well-being. Together, they discuss what it really looks like to design a meaningful life while navigating grief, pressure, and leadership. Koya shares how transforming everyday routines into rituals, intentionally creating beauty and joy, and returning to the breath can help us come back to ourselves. The breath is the master. You'll also hear powerful insights on boundaries, leadership, and choosing alignment over people-pleasing, along with Koya's invitation into deeper healing through a seven-day breathwork experience inspired by her book. Accepting Your Body With Krista Williams

Jun 11 · 1h 7m

Devi sits down with Krista Williams (Almost 30) for a real conversation about what it takes to come back home to yourself, especially through your body, your boundaries, and your relationships. Krista shares how book launch burnout left her feeling disconnected from something she’s proud of, and how she learned to stop scanning for who didn’t show up and instead focus on who did. She opens up  about growing up with intense pressure to be thin, bingeing as a way to numb pain, and how healing began when she shifted from fixing herself to “more deeply understanding myself rather than fix myself.” She offers a simple path: "allow and accept and embrace,” and reframes the body as a spiritual instrument.  Connect with Krista Williams: Website: https://itskrista.com/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/itskrista/ Connect with Devi:Website: https://devibrownwellbeing.com/ Substack: https://substack.com/@devibrown Living In Wisdom Book: https://www.devibrown.com/book Living in Wisdom Retreat: https://www.eomega.org/workshops/living-wisdom Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/devibrown/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/deeplywellpod/ Twitter: https://twitter.com/devibrown?s=21&t=… Merch: https://devibrown.myshopify.com/ Threads - https://www.threads.com/@devibrownSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Black Single Mother With Jamilah Lemieux

Jun 4 · 43m

This episode is the kind of conversation that makes you exhale. Jamilah Lemieux joins the show to talk about her book, Black Single Mother - the title alone has had the internet buzzing around the topic.  Lemieux breaks down how single motherhood is a spectrum, not a stereotype, and how the current wave of public contempt is often about control, to place labels and struggle upon.  If you’re dating as a single mom, her advice is practical and protective: be intentional, don’t rush introductions, and “listen to what they say. Believe what they say.” They also name how respectability politics and patriarchy shape shame in Black families, and why mothers deserve full lives: “Don’t write yourself out of the agenda… Include yourself.” Connect with Jamilah Lemieux: Website: https://www.jamilahlemieux.com/  Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/jamilahlemieux/  Connect with Devi:Website: https://devibrownwellbeing.com/ Substack: https://substack.com/@devibrown Living In Wisdom Book: https://www.devibrown.com/book Living in Wisdom Retreat: https://www.eomega.org/workshops/living-wisdom Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/devibrown/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/deeplywellpod/ Twitter: https://twitter.com/devibrown?s=21&t=… Merch: https://devibrown.myshopify.com/ Threads - https://www.threads.com/@devibrown  See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Beauty is Medicine With Tiffany Howell

May 22 · 1h 27m

Devi sits down with designer Tiffany Howell (Night Palm Studio) to talk about why your home isn’t just décor—it’s emotional support. Tiffany’s main point is simple and powerful: “Beauty is medicine,” and your space can help “reset your nervous system” when life feels hard. She shares how she helps clients find their aesthetic by asking sensory questions: favorite smells, textures, colors you dislike...because it’s “them getting to know themselves again,” and she treats each home like “its own living creature” that evolves with you. This is an opportunity to take away practical steps even without a full redesign: choose colors that make you feel safe, make daily rituals easier, and keep “three things…that bring you joy,” like a candle, a book, or a light you love turning on.Connect with Tiffany Howell: Website: https://www.nightpalm.com/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/nightpalm Connect with Devi:Website: https://devibrownwellbeing.com/ Substack: https://substack.com/@devibrown Living In Wisdom Book: https://www.devibrown.com/book Living in Wisdom Retreat: https://www.eomega.org/workshops/living-wisdom Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/devibrown/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/deeplywellpod/ Twitter: https://twitter.com/devibrown?s=21&t=… Merch: https://devibrown.myshopify.com/ Threads - https://www.threads.com/@devibrownSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Healing Requires Practice With Devi Brown

May 15 · 36m

Devi reminds us that a real wellness practice isn’t about looking impressive or “creating an ideal version of yourself,” it’s about “building a relationship with yourself that you can return to consistently….It’s not difficult, it’s effortful,” and “wanting healing without devotion… is not possible.”  You’ll come away with permission to stop performing your self-care, to trust small moments of real-life integration (one breath before responding counts), and to build a flexible practice across mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual needs.  The soul work is simple: ask, “What do I need right now?” then write down what comes up without judgment.
