When God Seems Slow—Then Suddenly Moves — 2 Peter 3:9; Isaiah 48:3

Sometimes God's timing seems to have two speeds: slow and suddenly. Don't mistake a season of waiting for a sign that nothing is happening. --- Sometimes God's timing seems to have two speeds: slow and suddenly.

We can wait for what feels like forever without seeing anything happen—and then God can move in a way we never saw coming. 🕊️ Grow Closer to God with Our Journals • The Daily Devotional Bible Study Journal: • The Daily Devotional Prayer Journal: 🎁 Download a Free Bible Study Resource 💌 Get the Daily Devotional Weekly Wrap-Up! The slow seasons can be difficult.

When we've been praying, waiting, obeying, and trusting God without seeing an answer, it's easy to wonder whether we heard Him correctly, missed Him somehow, or misunderstood what He was doing. But God's timing is not the same as God's inactivity.

Second Peter 3:9 reminds us that the Lord is not slow in keeping His promise as some understand slowness. In context, Peter is speaking about God's patience and His desire for people to come to repentance.

Then Isaiah 48:3 gives us another picture of God's timing. God reminds His people that He had announced what He would do—and then suddenly He acted, and it came to pass.

Sometimes there is a long stretch when we can't see much happening. And sometimes things change suddenly.

An answer comes. A door opens.

An opportunity appears. Something shifts that we couldn't have predicted or orchestrated ourselves.

So don't become discouraged simply because you can't see movement yet. God can use the waiting to prepare us, strengthen us, grow us, and deepen our dependence on Him.

Keep trusting God in the slow. Keep walking with Him.

And remember that what seems slow today can sometimes change suddenly. 📖 Scripture: 2 Peter 3:9; Isaiah 48:3 (NIV) 💗 Support this ministry: 👕 Shop Faith-Based Apparel & Gifts: 🎙 Podcast: Apple: Spotify: Purchases through applicable Amazon links help support Daily Devotional Ministries at no extra cost to you.
