We all have expectations of the people in our lives. We want them to understand us, support us, and be there when we need them.
And healthy expectations are important. But sometimes we expect people to always get it right.
To never disappoint us. To always know what we need.
To be everything to us. Yet none of us is perfect.
Ephesians 4:2 reminds us to be humble, gentle, patient, and to bear with one another in love. God calls us to extend grace because we all need grace.
This doesn't mean we should ignore harmful behavior or abandon healthy boundaries. But it does mean recognizing that people cannot fulfill every need or meet every expectation.
Only God can be our ultimate source. When we place our trust in Him, we allow Him to meet our needs according to His wisdom.
Sometimes He answers us directly. Sometimes He works through other people.
And sometimes He answers in ways we didn't anticipate. Friends, people are a gift from God.
But they were never meant to take His place. We can love others deeply, maintain healthy expectations, and extend grace without demanding perfection.
And when we do, we make room for healthier, more loving relationships. 📖 Scripture: Ephesians 4:2 (NIV) 💗 Support this ministry: 👕 Shop Faith-Based Apparel & Gifts: 🎙 Podcast: Apple: Spotify: 🔗 Connect with me: 📸 Instagram Personal: DDM: Facebook: Purchases through applicable Amazon links help support Daily Devotional Ministries at no extra cost to you.
