In 1 John 2:15, John tells believers not to love the world or the things of the world. After looking at the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life over the past few days, today's devotional brings us back to an important question: What does it mean to love God instead?
John gives us the answer later in the same letter. In 1 John 5:3, he explains that loving God means keeping His commandments.
Our obedience doesn't earn God's love, and following Christ does not mean we will live perfectly. But if we are serious about loving God, we should also be serious about knowing His Word, following His direction, and allowing what He says to shape how we live.
Loving God is more than something we say. Our love for Him becomes visible in the way we choose to follow Him. 📖 Scripture: 1 John 2:15 (NIV); 1 John 5:3 (NLT) 💗 Support this ministry: 👕 Shop Faith-Based Apparel & Gifts: 🎙 Podcast: Apple: Spotify: Purchases through applicable Amazon links help support Daily Devotional Ministries at no extra cost to you.
