It's easy to look at someone else's job, relationship, family, opportunities, circumstances, or life and wonder whether what they have is better than what we have. Sometimes there are things in our lives that genuinely need to change.
There are difficult seasons, seasons of growth, and seasons God never intended to last forever. But sometimes things are actually pretty good—and comparison is keeping us from seeing it.
Psalm 16:5-6 gives us a beautiful picture of appreciating the portion God has given us. David recognizes that his lot is secure and that his boundary lines have fallen in pleasant places.
God knows you personally. He knows what you need, where you need to grow, what season you're in, and where He is taking you.
Something may not include every detail you would have chosen for yourself. It may even take some time before you recognize its value.
But it may be particularly well suited to what you need right now. So before deciding that the grass must be greener somewhere else, take another look at what God has already given you.
Your grass may be green too. And what God has given you today doesn't have to be everything He'll ever give you for it to be exactly what you need in this season. 📖 Scripture: Psalm 16:5-6 (NIV) 💗 Support this ministry: 👕 Shop Faith-Based Apparel & Gifts: 🎙 Podcast: Apple: Spotify: Purchases through applicable Amazon links help support Daily Devotional Ministries at no extra cost to you.
