On this episode of The Vision TV Show, Destiny Yarbrough joins Pastor Tracey Armstrong, Day Gardner, Pastor LeaAnn Pendergrass and Pastor Jearlyn Dennie in welcoming Charlene Baktamarian, founder of God's View TV Shows and president of Spirit of the Lord Ministries. An apostolic and prophetic minister, artist, author and broadcaster, Charlene celebrates receiving an Angel Award after 19 years of nominations.
She and the hosts emphasize that Christian ministries should support rather than compete with one another. Charlene says her lifelong answer to what she wanted to become was simply that she wanted to help people.
That calling drives her to remain available until everyone seeking prayer has received personal ministry. She believes apostolic and prophetic prayer can establish something meaningful and stresses speaking Scripture.
Declaring God's Word, she says, gives the Holy Spirit something to breathe upon and redirects her toward destiny. Her commitment to helping others shaped her work in television.
After the Denver television studio where she hosted closed, Baktamarian felt God tell her to build a network that would give unknown Christian voices opportunities unavailable on major platforms. She and her husband faced ridicule and enormous financial risk, but moved ahead in faith.
A call to the Federal Communications Commission unexpectedly connected her with a decision-maker who directed her to a world-class engineer. Within six months, the network, licenses and towers were in place—an accomplishment she describes as a miracle made possible by obeying God's instruction before every resource was visible.
Asked how she distinguishes God's voice from her own ideas, Charlene describes an inner knowing accompanied by peace, personal confirmation and an ongoing relationship with God. She advises newer believers to seek confirmation rather than rushing ahead.
She also recalls a time when fear made her believe God had forbidden a property purchase, but His clearer direction exposed the anxiety and led to land that became a blessing. The lesson, she says, is that God does not set His children up to fail; He guides them personally and faithfully when they listen.
Obedience nevertheless brought hardship, including mockery, slander and attacks against the ministry. Baktamarian candidly describes learning to bless those who persecuted her instead of retaliating.
She came to understand that opposition often reacts to confidence and anointing, and that following Jesus cannot depend on universal approval. Her forthcoming book, When Life Has You Running, draws on one of her horse paintings and challenges readers to choose whether they will give up, give in or give life everything they have.
Its message calls people from fear and old identities into faith, perseverance and purposeful action. Charlene sees herself as a frontline warrior who fights for children, the church and people unable to fight for themselves.
Her goal is helping others thrive, even if their platforms become greater than hers. She connects that generosity to her difficult childhood in a Detroit drug house, where abuse, rejection and danger defined her world.
What taught her to survive became preparation to serve. She tells young people facing addiction, pain or rejection that God can transform their mess into a message and that they possess a purpose and destiny worth pursuing.
Alveda King's “You Are My God” reinforces the conversation's focus on trusting God through persecution, trials and rejection. Baktamarian describes rejection as redirection that built the character required for international ministry in places such as Africa and Japan.
She uses the word TRUST as a reminder to move under the supernatural Teacher in His timing and to recognize that even God's “no” can be protection from a future disaster. The episode also explores the unseen sacrifices behind public ministry.
Charlene has given time with family, finances and health, enduring cancer and major surgery while continuing to obey her call. She encourages viewers to reject false voices, renew their thinking and speak life over themselves, warning that thoughts and imagination are silently spoken words waiting to shape reality.
Her closing message urges people to carry who they are out loud, believe God's truth above past labels and go “all in” with faith. Through her testimony, the program presents perseverance not as denial of hardship, but as choosing trust, service and purpose in the middle of it.
