The NL took the spotlight last night and delivered two really good playoff games. Milwaukee now leads San Diego 2-0, and both games could have gone either way—truly two heartbreaking losses for the Padres.
Game 2 came down to star reliever Mason Miller vs. phenom hitter Jackson Chourio, and the 22-year-old Venezuelan won the battle, delivering a two-out, two-run single to win the game for the Brew Crew in walk-off fashion. The Braves turned to their bullpen again in game 2 and got strong performances from Ray Kerr: 2.2 IP, 0 R, 4K, and later 21-year-old rookie Didier Fuentes: 3.2 IP, 1 R, 3 Ks.
Money Mike Harris went 3-for-5 with a huge security RBI in the top of the 7th. The Braves won a tension-filled Game 2, 3-2.
For the Dodgers, two-time Cy Young winner Blake Snell struggled. He went 3.2 IP, 1 ER, 5 Ks, but with 5 BB.
He was fighting for his command on every pitch. Freeman and Muncy delivered solo homers, but it was not enough as the Braves head home to ATL with the series tied at 2-2.
