The MLB Divisional Series did not disappoint last night. The vibes were high, and the drama was high, especially in Milwaukee.
After Jackson Chourio tied the game with at 2-run homer in the 3rd, the Brewers took the lead for good following a William Contreras homer in the 7th. The game came down to a very bizarre play: Ty France’s moonshot in the 9th hit a cable at the top of American Family Field; the ball ultimately landed in Chourio’s glove, and that was the final blow to the Padres.
Final score: 3-2 Brewers. Where would that France ball have landed?
No one knows. The Braves looked tired following their cross-country trip to LA.
They pitched a bullpen game, and the temperature in SoCal was over 100 on the field. All of that was a horrible cocktail for Atlanta; Tarik Skubal was on the mound and in a bit of a groove.
The Dodgers got homers from Hernandez, Tucker, and Muncy. The Braves got homers from Sean Murphy and Ozzie Albies, but it was not enough.
The final Score was 5-3. The White Sox are still riding high.
Murakami hit a big 2-run homer in the 4th, and the Sox did not look back. They pitched a bullpen game.
They used 5 pitchers and only gave up 3 hits all game. The final score was 3-0.
And Murakami is becoming a treasure in two countries. We’re closing with the game at the Trop.
Drew Rasmussen delivered a gem. He carried a no-hitter into the 8th—Rasmussen: 8 IP, 1 H, 10 Ks, against the Bombers.
Jonathan Aranda hit a solo blast in the 3rd, and that was all the offense the Rays. Austin Wells had a shot to get something going, but he tried to stretch a double into a triple and got gunned down at 3rd.
The final score was 1-0. Special thanks to our guest Elijah Flewellen @flewellen727 for contributing to today’s episode.
Today, the NL takes center stage: the Padres at the Brewers at 4 PM EST and the Braves face LA at 8 PM EST. Both games are on FS1.
