Niki Elliott, a clinical professor and director of the Center for Embodied Equity and Neurodiversity at the University of San Diego’s School of Leadership and Education Sciences and author of Heart-Centered Connections: Seven Essential Skills for Helping Neurodiverse and Marginalized Children Thrive, joins the podcast to discuss the importance of making space for those who are different than us – especially the children in our community. Loving and caring for children living with neurodivergence requires a level of intentionality and self-awareness that is only now becoming mainstream.

Some of the skills needed will call for the parents, caregiver, and community member to dig deep into themselves and address their unmet needs so that they can get out of the way and put the needs of the child first. Dr.
