Wande Coal is back with his fourth studio album, King Coal , and one thing is clear, this is the strongest body of work we've heard from him in years. When Wande announced he was releasing another album, I was genuinely excited.

Not just because it's Wande Coal, but because of how rare his album releases have been throughout his career. After Mushin 2 Mo'Hits , fans waited about six years for Wanted , then nearly eight more years before his third studio album.

So hearing that King Coal would arrive just three years later was both surprising and exciting. But did the music live up to the anticipation?
