Built for Big Ideas: IMTS and Chicago

Welcome back to a special bonus episode of All For the Love of Chicago! This week, we’re talking about jumping into the Chicago River, why convention attendees and planners love Chicago, and one of the biggest events to call Chicago home.

Kristen and Lisa sit down with Michelle Edmonson, Vice President of Exhibitions for AMT – The Association For Manufacturing Technology, to talk about what it takes to bring nearly a hundred thousand manufacturing professionals from around the world together at McCormick Place. Michelle shares the story behind IMTS – The International Manufacturing Technology Show, the innovation and technology that fill the show floor, and why Chicago has remained an important part of the IMTS experience for decades.

From the massive undertaking of producing a show of this scale to the relationships and experiences that keep attendees coming back, this conversation offers an inside look at how major conventions like IMTS bring people together—and why Chicago is built to host them.
