Welcome back to another episode of All For the Love of Chicago! It’s a perfect 10!
We’re celebrating Chicago being named Condé Nast Traveler’s Readers’ Choice Award winner for Best Big City in the US for the tenth consecutive year, diving into the people and organizations making a difference, and highlighting some of the exciting things happening around the city this fall. We kick things off with "The Deep Dish" as Kristen and Lisa celebrate this milestone and share some of their own personal top places to visit around the city and reasons why Chicago continues to come out on top.
In our featured segment, "We’re Lovin’ It," Kristen and Lisa welcome Sister Stephanie Baliga of the Franciscans of the Eucharist of Chicago and Mission of Our Lady of the Angels to talk about her incredible work serving the West Humboldt Park community, her passion for helping those in need, and why she runs the Chicago Marathon every year. As the founder and leader of Team OLA, Sister Stephanie has used her love of running to raise millions of dollars for the Mission, while also sharing what makes Chicago such a special place to call home and why she feels so blessed to live in this incredible city.
We wrap up with Let’s ChicaGO, where Joanie is joined by Adam Rubin from the Chicago Architecture Center. They highlight some of the exciting events and experiences happening around the city, including the Anne Frank exhibition at the Griffin Museum, the House of the Exquisite Corpse experience, and the Chicago International Film Festival, happening October 14–25.
Adam also gives us a preview of everything we can expect at this year’s Open House Chicago, with plenty of opportunities to explore some of the city’s most fascinating spaces and hidden gems.
