On The Podium | EP. 44 | The DCMWG Show

Mona kicks off this week’s episode with an introduction (1:07) before diving into the wild world of AI and how it’s completely transforming the faces of family members in photos (5:00). Things take a serious turn as Mona addresses her recent back-and-forth with Cardi B and shares her unapologetic stance on colorism within the Black community (6:35).

She then lightens the mood with a rundown of what she and Phelps have been watching, including Mojo Brooks’ comedy special, The Widower documentary, and the Mike Tyson documentary (22:33). Next, Mona recaps her Halloween weekend and the viral Halloween post that had social media talking (28:27).

The conversation shifts to Keith Lee’s restaurant review and 2 Chainz’s reaction (29:51), followed by a special shoutout to the chef who stopped by and blessed the crew with some good food (33:44). From there, they discuss Jay-Z performing at the Super Bowl (35:01), Kanye West drawing 80,000 fans to a stadium in Houston (38:24), and Rod Wave disappointing concertgoers with a surprisingly short 10-song performance (40:55).

Mona and Conehead then share a hilarious story about rapper Tsu Surf’s recent visit to the Joe Budden Podcast (43:42), which sparks a debate over Conehead’s top five rappers, dead or alive. Next up is N.O.R.E.‘s confrontation with content creator Sober Facts over his repeated use of the N-word (52:40).

The conversation moves to Dave Chappelle before diving into the growing trend of AI-generated models delivering stolen jokes from established comedians (1:01:36). Derek gives some insight into his own creative process and how he develops his material (1:03:49), before Mona closes out the episode with a recap of her recent Bronx comedy show, the crowd’s energy, and how the night unfolded (1:07:30). ------------------------- This episode is brought to you by Kikoff.
