Episode 6 — Emotional Digestion: Stress, Feelings, and the Mind-Body Connection
What if the body does not simply “move on” from what the mind tries to skip? In this episode of Silent Medicine, Dr.
Nnenna Ndika explores emotional digestion, stress, nervous system capacity, and the mind-body connection. This quiet reflection looks at what the body may do with feelings once they are felt, and what can happen when emotional experiences arrive faster than the nervous system can metabolize them.
We explore why emotions are physiological events, not abstract ideas, and how unfinished emotions may show up as tension, gut discomfort, sleep disruption, fatigue, irritability, and more. You’ll also hear why “going deep” is not always healing, and why small, safe doses are often more supportive for emotional regulation and nervous system repair.
Includes a simple 90-second micro-practice to begin gentle completion. If you are navigating trauma, grief, or intense emotional states, please work with a qualified practitioner who can support you safely.
