The Freedom Acres Ranch Summary After being displaced by a hurricane in 2017, Courtney "CW" and Nicole Mallery purchased a 1,000-acre property in Yoder, Colorado, to launch Freedom Acres Ranch with the mission of feeding underserved communities and educating youth. Almost immediately, the Black couple faced extreme hostility from neighbors, reporting severe harassment, online surveillance, and the poisoning and mutilation of their livestock.
The Mallerys alleged that local law enforcement ignored their reports and instead weaponized the system against them, leading to a highly publicized 2023 arrest on stalking charges that were later completely dismissed. Despite the ongoing tension—including reported gunfire on their property in early 2026—the family has maintained their ranch, hosting thousands of visitors and donating fresh produce to local pantries.
Refusing to be driven off their land, the Mallerys continue to fight for anti-discrimination protections while using their platform to inspire and support future generations of Black farmers. Want to create live streams like this?
