Peter dealt with stuttering, trouble in school, painful report cards, being called “stupid,” and rarely hearing the words “I’m proud of you” or “I love you.” During summers at his grandmother’s house, life meant chores, mowing grass, cleaning floors, and spending long stretches without friends to play with. When loneliness showed up, television became Peter’s best friend.

And when the real world became difficult, Peter discovered something nobody could take away from him: His imagination. As Peter gets older, his search for belonging becomes even harder.

A new school. New faces.

Trying sports. Wanting invitations.

Trying desperately to fit in. Then comes a moment that stays with him: Peter throws his own party… and nobody shows up.

But Peter’s childhood wasn’t only pain. There was his first slow dance.

His first kiss. And his first girlfriend…who lasted about three days. 😂 Through the painful, funny, awkward, and unforgettable moments, Peter is slowly becoming the person he doesn’t even know he will someday be.

This story is for anyone who was ever misunderstood, overlooked, left out, laughed at, talked down to, or made to feel like they weren’t good enough. Maybe you weren’t Peter.
