In this episode of Hunting 4 Answers : In September 1968, 21-year-old Carol Jenkins was working as a door-to-door encyclopedia salesperson in Martinsville, Indiana. That evening, she told someone she believed a man was following her.
A short time later, she was found with critical injuries and did not survive. The case went unsolved for decades.
More than thirty years later, a new tip referencing a detail that had never been made public led investigators to a suspect. But before the case could go to trial, the accused died.
More than half a century later, the case remains legally unresolved. The FBI reopened the investigation in 2019, and questions about what happened that night continue to linger.
Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Indiana State Police at 317-232-8248, the Federal Bureau of Investigation at 1-800-CALL-FBI, or submit a tip online at tips.fbi.gov. This is the story of Carol Jenkins.
