From Family History to Historical Fiction: Turning Ancestors’ Stories into Powerful Narratives | Aryn Youngless
How can genealogy and family history research inspire historical fiction that brings our ancestors’ lives to the page? And how do we honour the truth of their experiences while using imagination to tell the stories that historical records leave behind?
In this episode of Dis A Fi Mi History Podcast, host Wendy Aris speaks with genealogist and author Aryn Youngless about transforming family history research into compelling historical fiction. Together, they explore how archival discoveries, census records, passenger lists, oral histories and other genealogical resources can reveal unexpected details about our ancestors and inspire stories that connect the past with the present.
