Recent polling shows he's within striking distance of the top three Democratic candidates, who are all in a dead heat with 10 percent of the vote each. In California's "jungle primary" system, the top two go on to battle it out in final round, so Democrats are panicking about the prospect of two Republicans in the top two or -- even scarier -- a Green Party candidate making it to the final ballot.
