DHS Purchasing Electric Shock Gloves For ICE Agents To Subdue Suspects

The Department of Homeland Security is planning to spend up to $20 million to purchase a new tool for ICE agents: electric shock gloves. “G.L.O.V.E” stands for “generated low output voltage emitter” and they deliver painful electric shocks used to “gain compliance” from a suspect within three seconds. The pain is described as being similar to a bee sting and proponents hope it could prevent some of the recent shooting deaths we’ve seen between ICE agents and immigrants.
