Clemency Recommended to Death Row Inmate, but Execution Still Scheduled for Next Week!
Today the Oklahoma Pardon and Parole Board recommended clemency be granted to 46-year-old Tremane Wood. Wood was convicted of stabbing and killing Ronnie Wipf during a 2002 New Year’s Day robbery.
Wood has maintained his innocence for the past 2 decades, and his lawyers today presented a compelling enough argument that gave him a 3-2 decision in favor of clemency. Now Oklahoma’s Governor must decide whether to uphold the recommendation or keep Wood’s execution date set for next week on November 13th.
